Reducing testing equipment needs
At cement plants, stationary and portable electrical cords must be annually tested to determine continuity, resistance and polarity safety. Testing generally requires carrying the cords and a portable tester. Multiple testing devices are necessary, and they are cumbersome to use with electrical cords since the user has to handle the devices and cords simultaneously.
Employees designed and built an electrical cord tester box that is easily transportable. The portable cord tester eliminates the awkwardness of carrying the tester and cords simultaneously. The person testing the cord presses only one button for resistivity and continuity and reads indicator lights for polarity.
