Dams are an often neglected and underfunded part of our public works infrastructure. There are over 77,000 dams on the National Inventory of Dams with a third nearing the end of their fifty year design life. RCC has proven to be a low cost means of not only building new dams but rehabilitating the older dams and spillways.
This resource notebook was developed to be a "living document" where current information on the design and construction can be organized. This 3-ring notebook contains engineering manuels such as guide specifications, quality control during construction, and facing systems for dams and spillways; construction cost information; project summary tables on most every RCC project in the U.S.; and research information on the durability of RCC structures. As PCA develops additional resources on RCC, the notebook is designed to accomodate them along with other literature.
