Description: Presents analysis methods for circular tanks containing fluids. Tables of coefficients are provided for bending moments and ring tensions due to various loading conditions. Provisions are provided for wall thickness, reinforcement and crack controls based on ACI 318-89 Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete and ACI 350-89 Environmental Engineering Concrete Structures. Also given are design guidelines for roof slabs and base slabs. Effect of variation in wall thickness and temperature variation in tank walls is also considered. A comprehensive design example illustrates the use of the design aids.
