Description: The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission was looking for a way to increase safety on its roadways, especially during dark, rainy nights. Since more accidents (per mile driven) occur at night, white cement concrete parapets offer a solution to decreasing the number of traffic accidents. This reprint was originally published in Concrete Construction magazine. (Printed copies sold in packages of 25.)
