The effect of air entrainment upon the durability of exposed aggregate panels was investigated. Variables studied included three white quartz aggregates, type of cement, air content, and surface treatment with a water soluble silicone. Also, freezing and thawing resistance was studied by two test methods. Additional studies concerned the potential alkali reactivity of the various cement-aggregate combinations and the compressive and flexural strength of the concretes.
