Description: Reprint of an article from the November 2005 issue of Dixie Contractor describing the use of Roller-Compacted Concrete (RCC) in rebuilding 34 miles of shoulders on the Atlanta I-285 beltway. The speed of construction and economy of RCC pavements led the Georgia DOT to implement a project to remove existing failed asphalt shoulders on the busy Atlanta interstate highway, and replace them with RCC shoulders. Because of traffic restrictions construction was limited to weekends, starting at 9 pm on Friday and concluding by 5 am Monday morning. A companion video on this project can be found on CD065. Sold in packs of 25.
