Aggregates Webinar on May 27
Although aggregates are considered primarily filler
in concrete, they greatly influence the properties and performance of
both fresh and hardened concrete. Join us for a 1-hour webinar on Aggregates
for Concrete to learn about the effects aggregate properties have
on the quality of concrete. The webinar will be held on Thursday, May
27, starting at 12 pm CDT and will be presented by Nathaniel Mohler, concrete
engineer in the concrete knowledge department.

Design and Control of Concrete Mixtures - The Course
(October 11-14)
We’re going back to basics with this course,
and it covers everything needed for a strong foundation in concrete education.
Based on PCA's most popular bestseller, Design and Control of Concrete
Mixtures, the topics include: the fundamentals and detailed information
on freshly mixed and hardened concrete; portland cements, supplementary
cementing materials, aggregates, admixtures and fibers; air entrainment;
procedures for mix proportioning, batching, mixing, transporting, handling,
placing, consolidating, finishing, and curing concrete; precautions necessary
during hot- and cold-weather concreting; causes and methods of controlling
volume changes; commonly used control tests for quality concrete; special
types of concrete, such as high-performance, lightweight, heavyweight,
no-slump, roller-compacted, shotcrete, mass concrete and many more. More

Customized Training
We can design a program that covers exactly what
you want your employees to learn; by working closely with you to assess
your needs, identifying training topics and content, and determining the
most effective training delivery methods. From lectures to lab sessions
to video workshops, we will provide a custom mix of topics and approaches
at your site, a convenient off-site location, or our Skokie facility.
And whether we’re training a group as small as four people or a
much larger one, we’re committed to providing alternatives that
fit your objectives—and your budget.
For more information on how to tailor an education program that fits the
needs of your company, contact Michelle
Wilson for concrete technology training and Rick
Bohan for cement manufacturing training.
