Can I search your catalog to get a list of articles on a topic?
Our catalog contains only books, reports, and other "monographic" material. If you need a list of articles, we can give you a list of free web sites for limited article searching, or we can run a search on any of several hundred databases and send you the results.
How much does it cost to get a literature search?
The cost varies based on the extent and volume of information needed. Do you need 3 articles or a comprehensive search? When you contact us, we can provide an estimate based on your topic and needs.
Can you provide copies of standards?
Unfortunately, standards are copyrighted, and we cannot provide copies of these. However, we can give you guidance for finding web and other resources for you to purchase them.
I'm a college student and need information on cement and concrete. Can you send me information?
We ask students to first consult their own college library resources and library reference staff. Then, if additional guidance is needed, you are welcome to contact us.
Do you sell PCA publications?
The Library does not sell current PCA publications. These may be purchased from PCA Customer Service, or phone (847) 972-9040. However, we can provide guidance on which publications may suit your needs. We do sell photocopies or digitized copies of out-of-print PCA publications.
Can I borrow books from your library?
Materials circulate only to PCA staff, Members, and other libraries on interlibrary loan. If you are located out of the area, we can assist you in locating another library closer to you with copies of books you need.
Can I visit your library to do research?
Absolutely. We welcome college students, professors, and others doing research in the cement and concrete fields. We ask only that you make an appointment in advance to avoid possible schedule conflicts. We can also retrieve relevant materials in advance to make your visit more time-efficient.
What are your hours?
We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
