PCA Chemical Moduli Webinar 9/29/09

Chemical Moduli:
Targets for Operators and Guidelines for Labs

September 29, 2009
2 - 3 pm CDT

Improve Clinker Quality

X-ray spectrometer used in cement analysisUnderstand the most common chemical moduli; what they are and why they’re important. We’ll look at how these moduli impact kiln operations as well as their ultimate impact on clinker quality. Suggested targets for standard deviations will also be discussed.

At the end of this course attendees will be able to:

    1. Calculate your plant’s AR, SR, LSF, BI, BF, % liquid phase, potential free lime, and other critical chemical parameters
    2. Describe how the AR impacts melt viscosity; how SR impacts coating and thermal load and understand impacts of other moduli
    3. Understand LSF and how it relates to burnability
    4. Understand the significance and meaning of standard deviation and describe target standard deviations for each moduli.

The cost of this one hour webinar is $95.
