Other Resources from the Fall Meeting
Interested in getting rid of CKD?
Rucker Williams, 2004-2005 PCA Fellowship Recipient, is interested in getting samples for his upcoming project, "Characterization of Cement Kiln Dust for Use in Controlled Low Strength Materials." Rucker is a graduate student at the University of South Carolina. Contact him at williaru@engr.sc.edu

Data Analysis of Electrostatic Charge on Finish Ball Mills
T
his report represents Phase 3 of an ongoing evaluation of the effects of grinding aid and electrostatic charge on grinding finish mills in cement plants. Data reduction and analysis was performed on grinding parameters and grinding aid data collected during Phase 2 of the evaluation. The purpose of this report is to present the reduced data and the results of the analysis. Reviewers should send their comments to rbohan@cement.org

How does your plant stack up for energy performance?

You can take a look at Gale Boyd's presentation, "Methodology and Results of the Energy Performance Indicator for Cement Manufacturing," Boyd is a researcher with the Argonne National Laboratory.
Click here to view or download Boyd's PowerPoint™ presentation.

The energy performance indicator tool (EPI) enables comparison of the energy efficiency of a specific U.S.-based cement manufacturing plant to that of the industry within the U.S. The EPI produces a plant percentile score between 1 and 100 and compares that score to the most energy efficient and average plants in the industry and the previous performance for the plant.
Click here to download the EPI too (Excel file).

Interested in coal system safety?
You might want to review PCA's, "Recommended Coal System Safety Guidelines." This document is currently under review for potential update and revision. Download a copy here.
