Watson Jr. Named Vice-Chairman of Portland Cement Association

Board of Directors appoint new leadership at fall meeting

SKOKIE, Ill. — The Portland Cement Association (PCA) Board of Directors elected Karl Watson Jr., president of CEMEX USA, as vice-chairman of the association at its Fall Board of Director meetings in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Watson takes over the position for John Stull of Lafarge North America Inc., who was elevated to the chairman of PCA. Watson will also serve on both the audit and compensation committee of PCA. Previously, he had served as the vice-chair of the government affairs council.

“I am honored to be a part of the PCA leadership,” said Watson “PCA will continue to lead on a variety of issues important to the cement industry including advocacy, research, and promotion to increase the use of concrete in the US.”

Previous to serving as president of CEMEX USA, Watson served as regional president of the east region of CEMEX, president of Rinker Materials West, the chief executive of Rinker Australia and vice-president of Rinker Florida Materials.
