SKOKIE, Ill.—The Southeast Cement Association, with Portland Cement Association and the Great Lakes Cement Promotion Association, will present “Roller-Compacted Concrete Pavement” in Louisville, Ky., on September 25, 2007.
Originally used to provide a solid base for the heavy traffic at logging centers, roller-compacted concrete (RCC) has become the gold-standard surface for industrial pavements. During the past 10 years, innovative applications and production methods have expanded its application to street construction, park and ride lots, interstate shoulders, highway bases, and more.
The course and construction tour is ideal for contractors, developers, public works and transportation officials and other professionals involved with deigning, constructing, and specifying pavement projects.
The seminar will provide detailed instruction on construction procedures for RCC including appropriate applications, mix design, and pavement design guidelines. In addition to “classroom” sessions, attendees will view an on-site RCC construction demo and tour an on-going project at Essroc Cement Company in Speed, Ind.
