SKOKIE, Ill.—Portland Cement Association (PCA) awarded eight industry professionals with Promotion Progress Awards at its annual spring committee meeting, April 29, 2008, in Chicago. The awards honor individuals who exemplify a commitment of time and energy beyond regular responsibilities in order to achieve important promotional goals. Winners were selected from 15 nominees of PCA member company personnel for outstanding efforts in advancing cement and concrete products.
“The exemplary leadership, tireless commitment and inspiring dedication to and for the industry shown by the eight winners of this year’s promotion awards is inspiring,” Charlie Sunderland, PCA chairman said. “They have accomplished impressive results and it is an honor to recognize them with the award.” The Promotion Progress Award program recognizes the achievements of employees of cement company members of PCA and the Cement Association of Canada (CAC) for activities in 2006 and 2007 that promoted cement and concrete in construction markets plus activities in standards development, education, and public affairs. More information on individual award winners is available at http://www.cement.org. The 2008 Promotion Partner Awards are co-sponsored by PCA and the Cement Association of Canada. The related associations represent cement companies in the U. S. and Canada and conduct market development, engineering, research, education, and public affairs programs.
