Research and Development
When questions are raised concerning cement and concrete, chances
are that Portland Cement Association engineers can provide the answers.
In addition to serving as a clearinghouse for technical information
on cement and concrete from sources worldwide, PCA itself has sponsored
research directed at extending the boundaries of technical knowledge
in the field throughout its 85-year history.
 PCA’s
research has produced a significant body of information that engineers,
architects, and other users of cement and concrete have come to
rely on to ensure that cement and concrete will perform as intended.
Test results and test methodologies developed by PCA have been incorporated
into standards and specifications of state Departments of Transportation,
the Federal Highway Ad ministration, the American Concrete Institute,
and ASTM International.
