Concrete Building Design Made Simple, Fast and Efficient

Portland Cement Association is pleased to introduce the third edition of Simplified Design: Reinforced Concrete Buildings of Moderate Size and Height. The latest version of this popular handbook includes timesaving analysis, design, and detailing methods for reinforced concrete buildings.

Simplified Design reflects the significant and sweeping changes of the ACI 318-02 Building Code such as new load and resistance factors, and unified design provision. This edition incorporates loading calculations and seismic design provisions in accordance with the International Building Code (IBC 2003) and the American Society of Civil Engineers Standard ASCE 7-02 for Minimum Design Loads.

To assist engineering professionals seeking methods to speed and simplify their design procedures, the handbook provides simplified equations, design aids, graphs, and clarification of code requirements. Examples illustrate the use of the simplified methods and are compared with exact analysis results from PCA concrete design software.
