PCA Technical Research

Dynamic cone penetrometer being used to measure stiffness of cement-treated basePCA has been doing research on cement and cement products since it was founded in 1916. The research and development (R&D) projects provide support to PCA's advocacy programs, technology programs, market development programs, and programs of the Cement Association of Canada (CAC), and allied industry groups.

MIT Sustainability Hub
The Concrete Sustainability Hub (CSH) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was established in 2009 through the sponsorship of the Portland Cement Association (PCA) and the RMC Research & Education Foundation. Each organization committed $1 million a year over a five year period with the goal of accelerating breakthroughs in concrete science and engineering and transferring that science into practice. More.

National Concrete Pavement Technology Center
The National Concrete Pavement Technology Center (NCPTC) at Iowa State University is a national hub for concrete pavement research and technology transfer. The Center, founded in 2000, has been instrumental in developing and helping to advance the nation's strategic plan for concrete pavement research, The Concrete Pavement Road Map. PCA is a proud supporter of the Center. For more information, click here.
PCA Education Foundation
The Portland Cement Association Education Foundation funds a wide variety of educational activities that increase public knowledge regarding appropriate uses of cement and concrete. More.
Research Fellowship Program
Research fellowships are available for students pursuing masters or doctoral degrees and their professors. For more information on the fellowship program
