Steel, glass, synthetic and natural fibers with different lengths and shapes Fibers have been used in construction materials for many centuries. The last few decades have seen a growing interest in the use of fibers in ready-mixed concrete, precast concrete, and shotcrete. Fibers can be made from steel, plastic, glass, and natural materials and are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and thicknesses. This webinar will discuss fibers for use in concrete.

At the end of this course, participants will have the ability to:

• discuss the advantages and disadvantages of fibers in concrete
• identify the types and properties of fibers
• recognize the effect of fibers on concrete

Upon completion of the webinar, registered participants will be emailed a copy of the presentation slides, a certificate for 0.1 CEU credit, and a PDF of “Fibers”, Chapter 7 of PCA’s Design and Control of Concrete Mixtures, 14th edition, EB001.
