In-situ S/S treatment (ISS) is increasing being applied to sites impacted by coal tars generated by manufactured gas plant operations. As the number of these types of projects increases there is a need to be able to monitor ISS performance in the field to ensure that project objectives are met and the ISS work is conducted in accordance with contract requirements. This 4-page publication sheet summarizes a comprehensive construction quality assurance (CQA) program used at a former manufactured gas plant site. The CQA program addressed each phase of the quality assurance program from bench-scale to full-scale testing.
