Mohammad Teymouri, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Construction & Concrete Industry Management Department
2023 Recipient
Mohammad Teymouri, Ph.D. is an assistant professor in the Construction & Concrete Industry Management Department at the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering at South Dakota State University.
Dr. Teymouri’s 2023 Fellowship was on “Impacts of Chemical Admixtures on Short-term and Long-term Fresh and Hardened Properties of Concrete made with Commercially Available Type IL Cement.” Around 2021, production and availability of portland-limestone cement began to grow in many regions of the United States. Noting that admixtures are widely used in the concrete industry to enhance the construction properties of concrete such as workability, pumpability, setting properties, mechanical strength, and durability, Dr. Teymouri undertook a comprehensive investigation to confirm the compatibility of commercially available chemical admixtures with Type IL cement.
Dr. Teymouri is passionate about cement and concrete research and has been recognized for his research contributions through several scholarships and awards, including the Slag Cement Association Award for Sustainable Concrete Project of 2023 in the research category, 2022-2023 Dean’s Fellowship Award at Colorado State University, the Rocky Mountain Chapter of ACI Scholarship in 2021, and the best Graduate Research Poster Award at CSU Research Day in 2022. He has presented his work at national conferences and published peer-reviewed journal papers to advance sustainable construction materials.
