U.S. cement manufacturers, represented by the Portland Cement Association (PCA), are rising to the challenge by focusing on lower-carbon cements, alternative fuels, and carbon capture technologies. Innovations like portland limestone cement (PLC) are now mainstream, cutting emissions by up to 10%, and all state transportation departments have approved its use. The industry’s shift towards these greener practices aligns with broader environmental goals and regulatory support, marking a significant step towards carbon neutrality.
