A.I. Doesn’t Happen Without Cement

Mar 11, 2026

Who would have thought the same construction material used in the Colosseum—the site of gladiator vs. gladiator combat—would be the same essential material needed to build data centers for A.I. and the intelligence that gives the U.S. military the upper hand in combat missions around the world?

From U.S. Army tank maneuvers to Air Force airstrikes, A.I. plays an expanding role in positioning America as Number 1 in national security, and A.I. doesn’t happen without data centers constructed with cement and concrete.

These information-storage facilities are engineered primarily for function and resilience. Concrete—made with cement—is the optimal construction material because it is fire-resistant, offers thermal stability, provides unmatched physical security, and has long-term structural integrity.

Currently, there are 5,426 data centers in the U.S. By next year, ACA’s market intelligence team expects that number will grow to 6,000, and America’s cement manufacturers are eager to build that critical infrastructure with 100% American cement. To make that happen, and to realize President Trump’s goal of the U.S. becoming the global A.I. leader, the cement and concrete industry needs the full weight of the administration behind it.

Such help from the White House will come in the form of a streamlined permitting process, the elimination of superfluous regulations, and federal agencies being directed to maximize the use of domestic cement.
American infrastructure should be built with American-made cement. With the White House on our side … anything is possible. American cement for American resilience.
