Tyler Ley, Ph.D., P.E.

Regents Professor, Oklahoma State University

2005 Recipient

Dr. Tyler Ley is a Regents Professor at Oklahoma State University. In 2005, he was selected as a recipient of a J. P. Gleason Fellowship. Under the direction of Kevin Folliard at The University of Texas at Austin, his project was “Extending the Use of the Pressure Meter to Evaluate the Air Void System in Fresh Concrete,” where he investigated hardened air void characteristics of concrete cured at different pressures and the microscopic investigation of the change in air void diameters with pressure, combined with analytical modeling.

At Oklahoma State University, Dr. Ley’s research interests include durability, constructability, and increasing productivity. His involvement with the American Concrete Institute, ASTM International, and the National Concrete Consortium on numerous committees demonstrates his continued leadership regarding concrete materials, durability topics, and construction methods. Known for his dynamic presentation style, Dr. Ley is a frequent speaker at industry gatherings, provoking increased visibility for technical topics as he brings research findings to broad audiences, which he also reaches through his extensive online network.
