Mixing Water for Concrete
Almost
any natural water that is drinkable can be used as mixing water for making
concrete. Excessive impurities in mixing water not only may affect setting
time and concrete strength, but also may cause efflorescence, staining,
corrosion of reinforcement, volume instability, and reduced durability.
This webinar will detail the impact of mixing water on concrete properties.
At the end of this
course, participants will have the ability to:
- identify the ASTM
standards for concrete mixing water
- recognize the sources of mixing water
- discuss mixing water impurities and their effects on concrete properties
Upon completion of
the webinar, registered participants will be emailed a copy of the presentation
slides, a certificate for 0.1 CEU credit, and a PDF of “Mixing Water
for Concrete”, Chapter 4 of PCA’s Design and Control of
Concrete Mixtures, 14th edition, EB001.
The cost of this one-hour
Webinar is $60.
$30 for PCA members; government officials (.gov); students and educators(.edu).
