PCA Applauds Trump Administration Executive Order on WOTUS Rule

March 2, 2017, WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Portland Cement Association (PCA) today issued the following statement in response to President Donald Trump’s executive order regarding Waters of the U.S. Rule (WOTUS).

“We applaud the President’s directive that EPA and the Corps reconsider the WOTUS rule. While our industry supports protecting our nation’s waters and wetlands, the WOTUS rule extends federal jurisdiction well beyond what’s needed to do so, and beyond reason.  We look forward to supporting the Administration’s efforts to propose a new rule that’s focused on achieving the Clean Water Act’s objectives without placing unnecessary hurdles on states, local communities, property owners, and the regulated community.”

The U.S. cement industry recognizes the critical role it plays in sustaining American society, and takes this responsibility very seriously. PCA and its members are committed to the safe and efficient manufacture of high-quality products with minimum environmental footprint.
